Yaks, Yetis, Yogis – Tibet in Comics

2013_07_04_museum_rietberg

From 14 july till 10 november 2013, the Museum Rietberg in Zürich (Switzerland) will have the exposition ‘Yaks, Yetis, Yogis – Tibet in Comics’. The exposition shows how Tibet has been a major source of inspiration for comic authors: a paradisical land, its wise monks (levitating or not), the abominable snowman, the dazzling heights…

The exposition was originally held in the Rubin Museum of Art in New York (‘Hero, Villain, Yeti – Tibet in Comics’). The exposition in Zürich will have original art of Cosey. During the Night of the Museums on 7 september, Cosey will discuss with comics expert Cuno Affolter.

Solliès-Ville

Last year, Cosey won the prize for best album (for ‘Atsuko’) of the year during the Festival BD in Solliès-Ville. As a consequence, he will draw the poster for this year’s festival. On the Facebook-page of the Festival, they give away the poster bit by bit.

This is the image they use until the poster will be unveiled. It first appeared in the book ‘Portraits sous influence’, that was published in 2011 by Association Alien (but that I had completely missed).

The album will be released on 6 september. Two different editions are announced, a normal and a ‘collector’ edition.

Cosey honoured with ‘Prix Diagonale’

Last 4 may, Cosey was awarded the ‘Prix Diagonale – Le Soir’, the most important belgian prize for comics. Cosey won the prize for his entire career.

At this moment, you can visit a small exposition in Lausanne with the results of the colouring competition ‘Des couleurs pour Cosey’.

And then this one… As a ‘reporter’ of ‘The World of Cosey’, I don’t like to make news about myself here. But I am proud to be in the Lausanne expo myself. This is the page that I coloured. It is exposed in the ‘professionals’ section of the exposition.
