The last months I have been working on a complete make-over of ‘The World of Cosey’ – version 3.0, you could say.
The most important improvements:
For this new version, I have changed many of the images – larger and better quality. Enjoy!
The World of Cosey 1.0 (2002)
The World of Cosey 2.0 (2008)
While I’m waiting for the album to write an article for the books-section of the site, I have collected some publicity material from Glénat.
On the web there have appeared already a few articles about the new Mickey albums. There is a lot of overlap, so I will link you to some of the most interesting I found yet:
In number 101 of the magazine dBD you can read a dossier dedicated to the new Mickey albums published by Glénat. With an interview with Cosey.
In the magazine is also an interview with publisher Jacques Glénat. He tells that he is negotiating with two american publishers, and that he met many of the other Disney publishers during the Frankfurt Book Fair.
A new image of the Mickey cover, complete with back cover and spine. Cosey writes me ‘he is so nervous about this album as if it was his very first album’.

In Glénat’s publicity magazine you can find more images of the new Mickey album by Cosey. To avoid spoilers, I only show you this image, more details can be seen in the magazine itself (click here to read Glénat 2016#2).

These are the endpages of the Mickey album by Cosey. It is now officially announced for 2 march 2016. The title: ‘Une mystérieuse mélodie – comment Mickey rencontra Minnie’.
French comic artist Lewis Trondheim makes a diary like comic series titled ‘Les Petits Riens’. This year, volume 7 ‘Un arbre en furie’ was published (Delcourt). In the album we find a meeting of Trondheim with Cosey.

When I heard the news that Cosey will be making a Mickey Mouse album, I was flabbergasted. First, I did not know that Glénat had an agreement with Disney-Hachette that allowed him to publish Mickey albums made by independent artists, like Cosey. Second, although I did know that Cosey admires the works of Disney, aksing him to make a Mickey album didn’t seem evident, because the character of Cosey’s work is so different from Disney’s.
So, I had a few questions – and Cosey was willing to answer most of them. You can read the interview here.
